A COMMUNITY BASED DAY PROGRAM
MY JOURNEY
Welcome, My name is Chante L. Dobbins.
My parents, Tommy L and Barbara J.Dobbins, began happy guest homes (H.H.G.H) IN 1971 - 53 Years ago. I was raised alongside those with special needs as my family and I grew up to love and respect them throughout my lifetime in 1988 I partnered with my mother to open C and D’s guest homes #1, as my parents aged, I slowly took over as administrator of all 9 H.H.G.H, while simultaneously continuing to open and operate in these guest homes #2 through #6. I am now raising my own children’s side-by-side those individuals along with help from my extended family and their children recently I realize the need for a day program that could serve those “unique“and individuals that for one reason or another didn’t “Fit” into the typical day program model. It was then, that i felt a great burden to design a program that was “unique” and was capable of meeting those needs.

Our Vision
To create an environment that supports and advocates for adults with “unique“ abilities and challenges so they can live and work as respected, valued members of their community. We provide individualized services based on the wishes and needs of those we serve and their families.
Who Can Apply?
You must be a Regional Center client and have a referral from your CVRC Service Coordinator.
Must be 22 Years old or older
Must Attend a minimum of 3 days a week.
Must have a TB Clearance
Must have behavior Appropriate for community integration
Must be ambulatory.
Our Program
Provides 100 % supervision at all times
Staff ratio Is 1:4
Starts later in the morning (9:30am)
Operates Monday - Friday
Days are flexible and matched community integration opportunities and clients needs
Welcomes part-time participants. (3 days min)
Believes in “giving back“ to our community through monthly community service projects and volunteering.
Believes in healthy living styles and encourage excessive and healthy eating.
Embrace cultural differences and will provide a positive environment to express diversity.
Is in partnership with our communities to provide “hands on“ Learning in natural settings that may include ; workshops, safety, cooking , money , communication, volunteerism, service projects, etc.
